The weather the last couple of days is making listening very uncomfortable - the heat generated by the combination of windows on three sides and the sheer amount of heat kicked out by the Diavolo and it’s Border Patrol PS is huge.
Yes, there is an 8kw aircon unit in the listening room, but it’s slightly too noisy to have it running while the music is playing. If I switch it on an hour before the amps, the room is nicely cool but after AC off/amps on, the room heats up very quickly.
First world problem I know, but the solution might be a (class D?) low power/gain amp to drive the horns in summer.
As well as cool running you also need it to be quiet presumably (given the sensitivity)? Something like a Neurochrome Mod 86 amp would seem to be a possibility, although it would probably involve Pete waving a soldering iron around.
