I’ve never really noticed any difference between courier companies. They all underpay their staff, so parcels are treated badly and drivers take short cuts, doing as little as they can. None of them has any contingency for staff sickness, as far as I can tell.
I like receiving from Yodel because the tracking system actually works, so I know when to be at home.
I use UPS generally & they are very good. On incoming stuff the driver knows me so takes care of it this end. Outgoing I often use the Access Point (same driver takes) and again no issues. Good value when booked through parcel2go in my experience.
I use a broker, but, if it goes tits up isn’t your contract with the broker rather than UPS for example? Could be a big downside if things do go wrong.
I had a claim from INTERPARCEL when a courier wrecked a pair of speakers, they paid out in full with none of the bullshit that you get with trying to claim directly with a courier.
We use UPS for small stuff at work, they are pretty darn good in my experience compared to some others to be fair.

Me. Excited about my new Raspberry Pi arriving, I plugged it in, in place of the server, and unplugged the old server. Unsurprisingly it didn’t boot up and “just work” with the old server SD card.
Unfortunately I can’t diagnose the problems because the new one has a micro HDMI out, and the cable isn’t long enough. I’ve ordered an adapter which will arrive tomorrow with any luck, but I’m impatient so I’ll probably stroll into town and spend half an hour failing to find one.
Meanwhile I have moved the old server to a FoL2’s room anyway. So the server doesn’t work. Meh.

Quite a lot I think although what came out was a load of low grade, poorly toleranced tat so unsurprising really. On the other hand the R2R can’t open & close the blinds yet.

That’s good to know. I always use Interparcel, and so far without incident, but nice to know they can be relied on in the event of something going wrong.
I will happily have one now for I do REALLY deserve it.
Our new house has a whatsapp group… only half a dozen residents it’s just about shared ownership of parking and any estate issues. Everyone has just sent us a message and organising a get together to introduce and meet etc.
I’ve just responded with a pithy quip and it has all gone fucking silent. It would appear no one knows about the Roundhouse up here.
