2016 - haven't you had enough yet?

Their best effort imho

So sad at this time of year too. I learnt to play my first 3 chords from him. Never went any further on the guitar but always had a soft spot for the Quo.

Cut my teeth as a junior drummer playing Down Down. Very tight arrangement and as a first song to try and play, it took some mastering.

Wow never a fan but many were.

End the year, NOW. FFS

Oh FFS, the guy was a huge success and a cut above the normal pop dross.

53 ffs

Not a fan but 53 ffs. He was a great character. rip

I actually find this quite shocking. I don’t mind some of his down-tempo stuff.

53 is way too young for anyone :frowning2:

Bloody hell

Yes this is shocking - liked him a lot, early Wham stuff was a cut above. Troubled though.

shocked by this one, not a fan, but RIP George Michael

Exactly this.

Even if you are not a fan, you can see why people would be. A very good singer and performer, and as pop music goes it was pretty much always quality songwriting.

Just woken up to this news. I wasn’t a fan, but I did quite like Faith, and growing up through the 80s, Wham and his solo stuff formed part of the soundtrack of my youth. 53 is no age at all.

Yes very sad, loved his music and so did my wife, shed a tear for both today…

It’s not only the world of popular music that is having its losses -

Wasn’t a great fan of George Michael but liked some of the songs & their early, very positive ‘Soul boy not a dole boy’ attitude.

I seem to recall this song going well with a gf of the time.

Was a regular at some of the soul boy haunts in the early 80s.

Always liked this from his solo stuff;
