55 inch 4K Television

I would not let the lack of services, put me off the best tv, otherwise.
They may change anyway.
My Panasonic set top box, will no longer do BBC iPlayer.
Just get a Fire TV stick/box, and you are covered.

Are any TVs cheap because they don’t offer streaming services?

If it doesn’t have the services that I want then it isn’t the best tv (for me).
I don’t wan’t another stick with another mains socket required and yet another remote.
I am in that situation now.

If I am spendiing >£2K on a TV I want one that does everything I want as It won’t get changed again for quite a few years!

I don’t really have a dog in this fight, but that’s ridiculously huge.

Are you watching the news, or back-to-back Star Wars movies?

JMO

I want a WiFi enabled Smart TV
Price (within reason) is not an issue.

My max is probably about £2.3K for a 65” TV

Agreed.

Did you miss the ‘not’ in my post ?

Yes.

No more bourbon for that man.

I am, easy sorted.

Good call :+1:

How are you going to get your tv signal?
Freeview aerial or one of the cable services?
If one of the cable services, their box will have all the services, probably.
We use our box for everything. We do not use the tv remote at all.

I think they do an online only membership for £15.

Well I want a distressed stock half price TV that doesn’t have effective apps so nobody wants it. Think you own this thread, eh?

It is a good question and one I haven’t got a definitive answer for.
Freeview ariel and wifi for other apps is an option.
The new house alo has a sattelite dish but I haven’t looked at that.
Virgin cable is also available so I could get broadband by fibre and TV services and not bother getting a phone line. I have no real use for a landline.

So I want to keep my options open at the moment

This is very true, you didn’t reference my conversation so it was most presumptious of me!

Do you want a bog standard dumb 32" TV?
It has HDMI sockets

Yes they do, I’ve got iplayer, more4, itv hub etc on mine.
