Air Fryers

Have you looked on Gum Tree? There are lots

I bought a SH set of cast iron pans, casseroles, skillet, frying pan an even a cast iron lasagne dish for £50. Great with the induction hob.

Not yet, I’m not going to war over a hob, if she’s dead set on gas, then she can have gas.

Cast iron may be an issue going forward , she already moans about how heavy my skillet and griddle pans are.

Tell her what good exercise it will be for the beach bod ,

I was thinking about this one:

Now having conniptions that this might be too small. It’s not a cheap thing, so thinking if it’s going to annoy us, for the sake of Ā£100 it might be worth going for the bigger one, which they claim can take a large chicken.

Out of stock at Ninja, but John Lewis have them, and if anything were to go wrong with it I’d trust JL to deal with it better than Ninja.

Hmm.

That is the one my daughter has. Absolutely loves it.

I have an instant pot that does pressure cooking, sous vide etc. It’s a pot. I really like it, as you can fry all the stuff, bring it to the boil and then pressure cook. Dead easy.

The air fryer I have is quite large, and has three trays. So you have one for chips, one for fish and one for the veggie thing. Works well. Can fit a medium sized chicken, has a rotisserie for that.

It’s best with air frying to move things about. I’m not really sure how you would move things about and get a good heat distribution on different things coming at once if your air fryer is a pot.

It strikes me that by doing everything, it may be a compromise. Unless it’s cleverer than I think!

2 KW consumption

That’s less than a regular oven, and it cooks quicker.

But I don’t think it makes sense to buy one to save money, I doubt it’ll ever pay for itself.

Does it cook at a higher temp?

I believe they get up to temp quicker, without a preheat, due to air flow.
