Seething - maybe not. Pissed off with the management and owners and disappointed for all the other Saints fans, definitely.
This whole saga only had one outcome on the horizon and it beggars belief that someone in the management team could have ever thought they’d get away with it, much less profit from it.
I’m glad it’s happened tbh and a 4 point deduction is probably on the lenient side. It just remains to be seen what further sanctions are applied to the management team. Eckert could end up being banned, effectively ending his career in England (expect him to be appointed at Man City in that event )
Edit: my dad is probably imitating a rotisserie chicken at this point…
In the near 50 years I’ve been following them (I was born there and my dad was at Wembley in ‘76, having lived there since being demobbed from national service - evacuation to Derby 1941-45 notwithstanding) this is possibly the worst thing to have happened to the club.
No, not the worst. Second only to a certain Restore MP taking control in some reverse-takeover shenanigans
My prophecy for Sunday is this. We are beating Leeds, and Everton are beating Spud 1-0, until the dying seconds when they score an equaliser kicking away the stool.
Mind boggling stupidity. There is nothing that could be gained from viewing an open training session, that outweighs the risk of getting caught. There is enough statistical data, live video footage and shared scouting info knocking about to provide more than enough of a tactical platform on which to base your tactics/approach to the game as the opposition.
Expect to see the Head Coach/Manager sacked & banned by UEFA/FIFA and the intern Data Analyst top himself.
My father managed to get a ticket and is there. I considered going with him (and a couple of others), but it would have been approx. £2.5k with travel and accommodation, my other half wasn’t impressed with the idea so I backed down. Making do with radio 5.
