Nope, it was a substantial chunk (by UK standards), but a strange shape, to me at least. Kind of like a scaled up chicken drumstick.
LCW Series 102 (C102-107) has been completed. Slight defect on Surface Treatment. Foil touched the cunting thing as it rose during Heat Treatment. Fuck it.
It is a Development Cake so it will be tested by the Tasting Panel consisting certain neighbours and friends. ![]()
The above is a by product of production. Pretty close to zero waste!
We look forward to tomorrow ![]()

Slow cooked gammon shank with a
honey & mustard glaze. Served with creamy mash with crème fraiche, butter, slow roasted garlic with chives ‘n plenty o’ white pepper + a little sea salt. Caramelised tendersweet carrots sautéed in butter with cracked black
pepper ‘n Rosemary with a balsamic glaze to finish. Nice bit of au jus for the final touch.
It will be next Friday because it needs to set for 48 hours before serving- it is a ‘wet’ cake. # Edit# Quality is adversely affected If I don’t follow that part of the build. The whiskey needs to be sealed in so to speak!![]()

“Pot meals” * 2, curried lamb and Sri Lankan chicken, at the Hope, Carshalton (community owned, very CAMRA positive).
Unsurprisingly (seven times CAMRA Greater London pub of the year) the beer was very good.
If only there was a baking thread ![]()
Is there? I scrolled back to 2021 and couldn’t see anything obvious.
It’s not called anything remotely connected with baking, is it.
I believe this is it:
Three and Half litres of chicken broth made with yellow sticker m&s organic chicken thighs I picked up this afternoon. Plan is to batch it up once it’s cooled for healthy lunches this week.
