Architecture

Looks amazing and great to see new owners restoring it back to it’s former glory rather than ripping it all out. :ok_hand:

Are those stairs one piece concrete? Shuttering frenzy.

Saw the interior of the modern house in Blackheath and thought of @crimsondonkey:

Interestingly listened to something about poor building standards the other day. Same points raised!

Not normally my thing; like this building though:

One of my favourite Foster buildings, it’s aged well.

I happened to be walking past today, so here’s (some of) the proto-Barbican Golden Lane Estate. Chamberlin, Powell and Bon, 50s.

Tried to walk off lunch by visiting the Camberwell Submarine.

It’s actually a vent shaft for a communal heating system and it’s Tötal Brütal.

Where about in Camberwell is that? I never saw it when I lived there.

don’t know how I missed it! Hopefully Johnnies is still as good as it used to be

I lived in Patmos Road from 1984-94 - less than a hundred metres from that submarine….

Brutalist bothy.

I think David may have been working through some issues.

“Castle” doing some heavy lifting there, looks more like a WWII pillbox.
