BBQing Diary

Might nip down to our local Lidl for a nosey.

Pork Chop for me (with Rosemary and Sage), homemade Chicken Satay for the Wife with Roast Leek; a new one for me, left over from a previous recipie but worked really well on the BBQ!

Subtle charcoal marketing from Eastern Europe…

Another yellow sticker cote de boeuf, £9 this time.

Didn’t rest it long enough before cutting it and it was a bit pinker than it looks in the photo..

First time using the Lidl mini egg, pretty impressed with it so far.

Fuck’s sake!

Oh! Heat? :upside_down_face:

Oh shit :grimacing:

I’ve opened a case with Lidl customer services. Apparently they’re good about replacing them, let’s hope so.

If they don’t want it back and they just send a replacement, I’ve read that they can be repaired with fire cement… stereo eggs!

Dunno, maybe, I got it pretty hot for a steak the other night, but they’re supposed to be able to take it.

Yes, I’d have thought that it would have been in a kiln!

Lidl are sending a new one, arriving tomorrow from Germany via UPS, fuck knows how much that’s costing for a 23kg lump!

Amazing really because I know for a fact my local branch has at least 2 in stock!

Pleased to hear it but can’t really see why the replacement won’t fail in the same way.

Your inner looks different. I can’t see the square cut out at the bottom that goes at the front to line up with the vent?

It’s there, you can just about see it on the lhs.

Ah, I misunderstood, they’ve actually just replaced the fire bowl, which makes more sense.

Think I’ll have a go at repairing the existing one just in case.
