I fancy a machine polisher, looking forward to seeing how you get on.
Shiny all the things
Don’t underestimate the time it takes to mask off bits of trim.
Just did the first pass, on a section of the rear quarter, much improved already.
I’m sure its very time consuming, but cheaper than : http://www.petrolheaddetailing.co.uk/stage-2-correction.html
£350-700!
It’ll take a full day if you do it in one go.
There’s no rush though, its not like we’re going anywhere, i expect it’ll be in the garage for the next week or so.
I’ll try to get some before and after of the swirl marks. Easier said than done.
Sold! I will have to order one at some point.
I got mine from cleanyourcar. They do bundles. Stick to Menzerna for the polishes imo.
This is what im using
I have stuff to actually fix on the Mini first, but £140 isn’t bad at all.
Thats what I’ve got. Fool proof imo.
Agreed.
Im a total novice and I’m getting superb results.
Ford’s “performance blue” paint isnt hard, so it’s making light work of it. I suspect the paint on my bmw will require more effort, the clear coat on that is rock hard.
Nice blue that
It is now.
Best colour Ford offered imo.
Lovely colour
Lovely.
I was going to say that I used to have a Fiesta that colour, (You might even have been in it) but then realised that it had never looked like that
Machine polishing completed.
The paint was properly buggered in places so needed a couple of passes with the abrasive compound.
The high gloss finishing polish has done its job, easy to apply and remove.
The car looks fantastic now, way beyond what I was expecting considering it been neglected for 12 years.
I hope to get a layer of wax on this evening and a 2nd one tomorrow.
Is the wax on/off by machine as well, or by hand?
