Car Insurance

Sigh. But what if you want to use that to give yourself a higher excess, which would reduce the premium? Are you limited to only using their £250 excess cover or can you put it towards a higher amount? Is what I was asking.

E.g. I normally go for £250 excess, but if they are giving me £250, I’d like to increase it to £500.

Yes you can increase your excess.

Go Compare include £250 excess to make the premiums on their site seem more competitive.

The higher the excess the lower the premium.

Thank you.

You seem to be incapable of realising that the info above is not discernable from TFM.

Try looking things up for yourself.
Someone tells you there is an offer go look at the offer.
Wipe your own arse instead of expecting it done for you

Fair.

Looking at it, they say ‘up to’ - wonder if that’s just to cover themselves or if it’s used to frequently pay less than. All else being equal though, worth try them.

Car insurance was due …cheapest quote £514 AA…Full no claims,no points etc …when I reminded the guy all of that it didn’t seem to make any difference.he told me I was on their gold tariff which intrigued me so I asked what the difference was …It turns out less excess if I claimed for anything…I then reminded him that I hadn’t claimed anything for years …I got the silver tariff which was £406 …result for me …perked me up !

I renewed mine with Tesco Bank last month, the renewal was £520 which was 20% more than last year, I rang them and asked if that was the best they could do as I’d had a couple of cheaper quotes, they did it for £440.

Jeez, do you guys live in a big smoke or is Engerrlaand just crime ridden?
For around £500 me & Mrs X get a fully comp multi-car policy.
Can’t get a car nicked around here leaving the window down with the keys in it. Both of us have done this.
In saying that it may all change soon as I have a no fault claim write off being processed right now.
To mitigate, yes we are both old bastards.

How did you manage that?

Hope you dont need to claim.
Check your policy carefully to see what is covered.

Just tried to change my address on my car insurance.
Orig policy ( taken out in May) £177.40) but cost just to change address £362.67
I contacted the agent but no flex was available. Greedy scamming bastards. I had no option but to cancel policy and take out a new one that was just £275. Claires car was just £20 to amend address with Yoga.

Name and shame. Who with?

Insurance was with the RAC

Wow, that is a surprise, I was expecting one of the more ‘marginal’ providers

Also it cost £45 to cancel the policy

You’ve moved from the middle of nowhere to Poole, frankly £362 sounds like a good price for the land of the webbed fingers.
