BBC micro! Posh
Iāll stick to MVS and bootlegs
Iād still love a cart machine. Maybe analogue will do one eventually.
WoWā¦ I remember lusting after a PC Engine then the Neo Geo. Fantastic collection, much envy from the north.
Pc engine was a great machine, I remember it being compared to the size of a pack of quavers in cvg. Check out the LT
Fifth time Iāve owned a homecart collection. Itās amazing in 1991 these games were Ā£199 each, minimum
CVG! i started there too. I probably have 95% of every mean machines ever issued
in the loft.
I remember being amazed with the graphics of Slaughterhouse
That mean machines collection is probably worth a couple hundred now
Most of them are falling to bits. I couldnāt afford the games so I spent time overreading the mags fantasizing about games i couldnāt afford.
My current working from home setup is crippling me. Can anyone recommend a 32" curved/flat monitor maybe with built in camera please. Also what Iād the latest mouse/keyb for these useless apple products.
Iāve never hated a Unix workstation more than this bag of shit tbh
I use a full hd 32ā lg tv so it has speakers built in. Works well as a monitor although the far edges are a bit curved. Then a Logitech c270 webcam which also works as just a mic if you donāt want video
Obviously no use if you want 4K res or more than 1080. Oh and itās HDMI (in case of apple awkwardness)
Would prefer a monitor over TV
Budget 1k with keyb mouse camera
With that budget get a monitor/s with a very adjustable stand, and maybe a usb hub?. If you have room Iād say two screens might be even better. Say 2 x 27ā 4K with a desk clamp arm stand so they donāt take up desk space (so they need vesa mounts). if you get the right screen/stand you could have one portrait for docs and one landscape for working and rotate them any which way
Unsure what route Iām going but my desk is 90 wide by 50 deep
This 16" crapbook takes up most of that
I cant work like this I know that
Bigger desk (ex office desks are cheap) if you have room
Decent chair (same - try the coggin group if theyāll deliver to you?)
Clamp mount for screen(s)
Keyboard and mouse
Get something to stand the laptop in, closed and out of the way? Or I guess you get a laptop stand for one side and the screen in front of you?
Get a riser to slide the laptop under and sit the monitor on. Invest in a proper chair or your back will end up ruined. Chair made a huge difference for me. Wireless keyboard and mouse, nothing that looks slim and fancy, itās not a fashion show, youāre using it for work. It should be ergonomically sound with proper keys or your wrists will end up ruined as well.
there was an office chair thread in 2020, which resulted in me buying a refurbished Steelcase Please V2 which was one of the better decisions, and at least I was previously using an Ikea office chair, not a dining chair
then a bigger office desk, bigger monitor raised higher, plus proper keyboard and mouse
there is plenty of info about office PC/keyboard/chair ergonomics, if you are spending hours in front of the pc it is worth checking out
laptop stand - my Mrs uses this for her HP laptop (plenty similar available)
Laptop Stand Adjustable Macbook Stand Portable Laptop Riser Holder Ergonomic Foldable Computer Stand for Desk Compatible with All 10-17" MacBook Air Pro,Dell,HP https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08LGMF4X4/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_4X0KPZMQHAAPDETPVWHG?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
she uses it with a wired microsoft ergonomic keyboard and mouse
The MacBook WiFi wouldnāt work when it was on a stand. My flat is pretty small so the desk has to stay. Thinking a vertical stand to hide the lappy away and then a big 32" or whatever in front with a keyboard and mouse. Havenāt started looking about yet
I have that exact laptop stand pretty much and it was fine on all surface laptops but the Mac suffers extreme WiFi packet loss on it
Took me a while to work it out too
