Covid: How do you feel? (Part 2)

There are already fake test result ‘certificates’ doing the rounds. Can you imagine the black market for this?

All that matters to me is that it has a nice dark blue cover.

i can see businesses making the case for customers and employees. The live gig sector is undertaking a trial linking track and trace to testing to try and open venues. Not quite the same, yet.

I can see businesses thinking about how they end Covid secure measures, in offices and not just retail. In another story reported in the FT, director indemnity insurance is rocketing and one of the drivers is the concern around Covid litigation Inn the workplace.

All government departments and employer sectors have been asked to bid for priority and vaccine quantities for the under 50s. If the government hi down this route do they, as an example, only let vaccinated teachers stay or return to work.

Of course if dildo was doing her fucking job this would be happening anyway.

I don’t think it was ever possible in this country. People just aren’t that compliant with government requests to use an app, especially if it puts you out of work with little or any recompense. I’ll be surprised if the uptake for the app is above 50 percent.

I think many people would have complied IF it came with that income protection. All those years of removing employees protection have underpinned the lack of isolation. And local councils have had good results with tracing when they don’t rely on call centres

Maybe, but it’s a busted flush now. However, back to the point, which is there will be pressure from businesses for varying forms of vaccine passports.

It can’t stay a busted flush if we ever want to stop locking down . Every country that’s kept cases low and short lockdowns has done so through TTI . Passports just won’t work if they aren’t backed up by the centralised official records and that’s just visibility of the TTI records

The Tories will go for vaccines only, once done the need for track and trace goes. No one will use it once we are all vaccinated, well, very few anyway.

Wrong, but you’re right that’s what our glorious leaders will say

You think we should run track and trace for ever?

Until it’s not needed, which isn’t when we complete the first round of vaccination. I’d hope we track and trace any serous disease (rabies, Ebola, TB, etc) and until Covid ceases to be such a significant threat, we should continue to monitor it in that vein.

Nope, as I said, it’s when everyone is vaccinated, that’s two shots. It’s also a busted flush because half the population don’t use it and with those who are vaccinated planning holidays abroad already, track and trace will become meaningless. I’m almost of the view that we should stop funding it, but I suppose even with limited numbers participating it provides some efficacy.

A very quick look shows around ten million downloads of the NHS app.

This.

Everything else is tokenism - and exactly because of that will almost certainly become government policy - with roll-out entrusted to whatever spivvy chancer’s put the fattest backhander Johnson & Chums’ way recently…

In order to better humanize the endless stream of esteemed academics on radio and tv at the moment i was wondering if we could include some slightly less science-y aspects of their lives…?

I think it would help…

you might want to change the order to put the important stuff first before the audience get bored in these days of expert-fatigue.

Had email from PHE got an appointment for vaccine on Thursday at Brighton Racecourse.
Hope they don’t get anything mixed up. Don’t want any ‘horsey’ drugs.
I need to be able to drive home afterwards :grinning:

Don’t worry, the upside is that you will be short odds in the 3:45 at Brighton.
