I bought a mini DSP from them - They forgot the VAT
@hoopsontoast how are the supravox bass drivers? The 15 inch ones they do don’t appear to be too expensive.
I’ve not tried any of the larger bass drivers, the new 380 range are somewhat similar to various 15" Altec models and reasonable value at ~700 Euro/ea for the ceramic magnet versions. All their AlNiCo and Field Coil models are pretty spendy.
The 285GMF are more mid-bass, I’ve not had a chance yet to try them as a 2-way, it’s in the works though.
Yeah quite a jump for the alnico.
specs on the website look good for the 380 gmf lc. A nice balance between bass response and efficiency in a reasonable sized enclosure. website claims 40hz in a 150l cabinet. Driver sensitivity claimed as 98db.
would be interesting to try and hear a pair.
does anybody have a pair of tweeters similar to these style Vida tweeters who could unclip them from the face plate and measure them?
I’m wanting to upgrade the speakers in my car as they’re shocking but don’t want too much faff or aftermarket looking stuff.
The originals, pictured below, clip into a housing that fits into the dash. I could possibly 3d print a shim or use some hot melt glue to hold something smaller in place if needed.
Chris are you still looking for test chambers ?

I’m not but that’s a good price.
That’s a diy AR Bailey transmission line
A mate had a pair when I was at school and they had very clean bass!
Well I bought the Airlink and have just connected I up for the 1st time. The turntable is spinning at an alarming speed, I tried to measure it with my phone app but at 150rpm it launched the phone off the TT ![]()
Any ideas ![]()
That doesn’t sound right, and suggest you. don’t try again and speak with the supplier. Sounds like it’s stepping up not down, but why I have no idea. Unless of course something wrong with turntable itself.
If you have the skills/suitable meter you could measure the output voltage on the airlink.
I’ve just found a switch under the platter 50/60 hz and 2 transit bolts. Makes no difference ![]()
Yep, only suggestion I can make is to measure the output voltage on the transformer to confirm is dropping the voltage. Or taking it and the turntable who can do more in-depth testing, perhaps using a Variac on the turntable.
I’m sending it back to Japan!
This time these panels have turned out to be pretty much plug and play:-
5.6 OHM
3 watts drives them very well
Has treble adjustment
Nasty cloth removes to give nice covering
Self standing rigid cabinets - 24mm thick baffle
Piezo horn tweeters and Whizzer cone combo
Nearly normal
A change in your forum name impending……..![]()
Look forward to that
A little progress playing with VituxCAD…
Best looking configurations so far are with the Scanspeak H2606/9200 or BMS 4524. The Radian 475PB, and Tymphany DFM (to a lesser extent) measure quite lumpy on the Seos 12. Sica HFU looks OK.
The 285GMF is still open baffle for testing, hence the roll off.
I’ve ordered a few Caps, Inductors and Resistors, a few I already have from previous projects.
Been looking at the Supravox ‘RJ’ Style enclosure that is the suggested design for this driver. Not decided yet.
The plinth is finished now looking for an arm, anyone have anything tucked away that they might want to move on?
