Made a nice oak armboard ready for my TD124 turning up
Finished it with a few layers of Danish Oil

In a different direction, a scragged together parts bin inverse RIAA dooberry from Pete Millett’s circuit (one of those things that I should have probably hacked together before to see how the phono stage is misbehaving).

Now comes the time to faff about with crossovers.

Looks like more than one pair in the production line!

I had some spare offcuts to make another pair, hoping to put some faital pro drivers in to compare to the altec stuff

Horns being built (for me not by me!)

More parts bin stuff¹, this time the Phonoclone boards that were on pfm recently to try as a backup phono stage.

¹ including having to slum it with a red, rather than blue, LED.

So with thanks to @hoopsontoast for lending me his supravox 285gmf to have a play around with and @diceman for collecting a pair of faital pro 12pr320 that I bought off eBay and waiting too long to go get from him I now have some drivers to compare against the Altec 414 that should be a lot easier to get hold of if needed. The real hero today though was the aircon in the fiesta. Couldn’t have done it without it

No problem, look forward to seeing how you get on! :eyes:

A few more build pics of the multicells being put together -

Are they staying natural or getting a colour?

Staying natural. The bass cabinet will probably have something like teak colour veneers, and a retro grille cloth covering the front top two thirds that is a cream coloured to tonally match the multicells.

Something like but not exactly this -

Who is doing the build, and what drivers will you be using?

Have you sorted the cloth out?
I’m after some retro type cloth in off white or grey.

@keith1962 - Markus Klug is making the multicells, Chris @Rab1991 is bringing his fabulous craft to the cabinets and more besides.

This is going to a largely Altec adaptation with 15" 416s on the bass , and 288C compression drivers. HF will be courtesy of YL Acoustics 1800G horn tweeters.

@stu - not yet but I bet Chris knows where you can find some.

Marcus Klug does a great job - I have heard Marks several times they both sound and look lovely. I had guessed a long time ago the plan you said you didn’t have.

I got some cloth off eBay as I wanted the Lintons to have that old Klipsch or AR grill look

I only used one lot of (brown) cloth for them so have one going spare if you want me to bring it to Lopwell?
