I still can’t believe her pecs. She could probably swim to the mainland if she fancied it.

I know. The vet said she was 1 kilo overweight for her age

I mentioned that it might be muscle…

Proper worker shape - when you get her fit you will have fun keeping her to heal.

Dogs love Prog. It’s a fact donchaknow

Nope. They would have to live to 150 dog years just to get through one full album.

Sausage dog with mincer handle.

Yes she is a very sweet dog, loves people, other dogs and hugs.

Needs a lot of work though!

What was her story?

She is originally from Kerry in Ireland, and was part of a hunting pack. They think that she either got lost/ separated, or more likely stolen. Whoever had her in Ireland quickly found her a bit much and she was given to a rescue centre in Wales, who in turn found Jackie from Foxhound Welfare. They think she is about 2 years old from her physical and emotional maturity. They’ve had her for 4-5 months where she’s effectively been part of a pack of rescue hounds and partly domesticated. She’s lived there about 5 mins walk from the Angel of the North.

We met her yesterday after a long chat about her and the responsibility we would be taking on. Then we took her for a decent walk by ourselves and got to know her a bit.

Got her home last night and took her for a walk and then introduced her slowly to our dogs. She’s a bundle of energy which is a bit much for them at the moment. She weighs about 33kg and is very strong for her size - when’s she gets the scent she can really go!

Not a good night’s sleep as she was a bit anxious and whiney, so we went out for a good yomp this morning around the fields and common. She loves other dogs and is anxious to play, very inquisitive and bright.

She’s now sat down in the kitchen for the first time.

Off to the Wyre Forest later for a long trek and have a go in the dog wash up there.

Sunday morning we’ll be starting training classes here -

Now that is one appealing animal, very kindly features just begging for hugs and treats. Remember, as she disappears into the undergrowth and you’re hoarse calling her to heel, her tail may look as if but isn’t giving you the bird, they’re just built that way.
