Don't laugh - economical turntable suggestions please

I agree, I have one and they are ace. That one was a total bargain.

OK, rather than shit the forum up further I’ll plough on here.

I don’t actually have an appropriate flat area to stick a turntable on.

Google throws up some proper shockers, but this (£50 from the Range)

is roughly the right shape and size. I’d want a turntable on top, a bit of record storage, and space for the potential addition of a Quad 33 and 303 :man_facepalming:

The Range one looks OK but the back is closed so no cabling in there.

Ideas please. Neutral and cheap is good.

True enough. Builders used one of those here recently. I’d never seen one before - very clever idea.

Mission creep has started already!

You’ll need a fair few more ‘vinyls’ to fill that up

This is quite nice (Alphason)

“Industrial Chic”, “Urban-Living inspired”, that’s definitely me

Not £50 I would imagine

I am afraid that this changers EVERYTHING. Sir has a fine grasp of design and aesthetics and must appreciate that the only turntable that’s going to cut it with those two is a shiny new Thorens TD1500

Now, I grant you that it exceeds your original budget by £1,400 a smidge but you can’t tell me that the warm fuzzy feeling of seeing it all together wouldn’t offset that entirely?

All the shiny!

Not too bad, actually

That’s a lot cheaper than I’ve found it. Cheers.

Meanwhile I’ve found a dealer near High Street Ken who seem to cover all the bases mentioned in this thread even including @Tons_of_fun’s curveball, so I think I’m going to book in and Talk To Some Humans.
