I definitely see the appeal of people pushing engineering perfection, even if there is no advantage to the end product.
Whilst it’s unlike to be the case with over-engineered record weights, history does seem to have plenty of things that have been developed / discovered as the by-product of pushing engineering in completely different areas. Teflon being I believe the classic example on that front.

I agree, also the high end of anything often gets emulated. Economies of scale / commodification kicks in, quality (Even if it’s just design cues) can therefor be elevated for standard plebs like me. I.e Haute couture / high street. Trickle down technology. Harder to fit this analogy to art but it certainly can inspire…If anyone looked at the pics above and thought I could do that cheaper, this rather proves the point. (You didn’t however do it first)

‘A complete waste of money, vulgar, rip off’. I could align with this opinion if purchase was compulsory but it isn’t.
So I sit on the ‘I’m glad it’s out there’ liberal line as it may produce more overall benefits than harm.

I am a bit out of touch with eBay but you used to be able to get a listing taken down if another seller used your pics.
I know the seller, was a dealer and had a ebay business account which closed when he wound that up hence the new a/c and no feedback. He’s genuine. This was a trade in
@hoopsontoast cheers for the heads up - Yes probably I had spotted these yesterday. Pretty impressive. @£450 the starting bid is the max I would think about - Then they are in Luton.
What I would like really is the engineering drawings - There is a guy in the next village who is an ex furniture maker I might be able to get him to help with the awkward bits.
Looks like a North Hill Audio arm. I haven’t heard one but there is a Facebook page for North Hill Audio with quite a few posts which may offer some help.
