Were they there before you left?

Where do you live? I grew up around there. Went to school in Caernarfon, till I bailed out to a boarding school in Colwyn Bay. We started off up near Carmel, then moved down the hill to Llandwrog.

Yes, the donkeys are coresidents. We live above Bethesda.

Just hit 31c in the shade here

On the plus side the AC unit is running at zero cost off the solar

Just pootling around in the low 20s day, mid teens night. Luuuverly.

That storm seems to be within hearing distance of Swindon now (looking at Blitzortung). I am pretty much directly in its track, assuming it doesn’t peter out or change direction. It might be an hour away but it’s already gone pretty bloody dark here.

If you don’t want it, send it this way. It’s still 28° here.

I’ve just got the first few drops of rain but I think the lightning might skirt north of here. It does seem to be thinning out.

Beautiful for most of the day, now clouds have rolled in, thunder rumbling around the face of the Chilterns, 15 spots of rain.

FFS! Do SOMETHING !

Just had it, some very welcome torrential rain and lightening show!

Here in suburban south London we usually wait for “sun down” (sun dips below the house opposite, about 8.15pm in high summer) at which point we “engage wind tunnel mode”.

This involves opening the front and back windows wide

at which point it really blasts through the house.

Anyhow, this evening it suddenly clouded over around 7pm so

  1. awning in
  2. blinds up
  3. wind tunnel on

an hour early.

still 29c outside here, will be taking the dog for a walk at 20:00 but think it will still be sticky and hot then :frowning:

OK, now it’s actually raining, and accompanied by the most Biblical thunder and lightning!

I do love a thunder storm :+1:
