Half time at Lescar Jazz.
Elina Duni, Albanian-Swiss singer with an amazing voice, with wizz guitarist Rob Luft.
Did she shout “I don’t believe you”
Not being a Dylan wonk I recounted it as “traitor”. Thank you.
Although I seem to have no problem remembering “go home dirty bopper”.
I think at the Albert Hall gig she was very nervous.
What seemed a good idea probably felt a bit overwhelming when she actually stood in front of a full Albert Hall and thought of Dylan standing there, There was even a false start as she started one song in the wrong key.
She grew into it, relaxed and started to enjoy herself but I don’t think she was quite ready for a ‘Rocky Horror Show’ type audience participation show.
She has since taken this show on tour and I am sure it has evolved and she has got a lot more comfortable.
Her singing was great, and for me, anytime you get to hear Desolation Row sung live in its entirety is a bit of a treat,
Quite envious mate
Nice one Glasgow
Meanwhile developers desperate to kill the Moth Club
If I won the lottery I would buy
- a lifeboat
- a music venue to host the most fringe stuff imaginable
Damn straight
JAMC at Rock City.
Followed by a bloke with a guitar belting out sing alongs at a nearby pub. Top night.
No decent pics though.
My aunt did just that.
Funny that the ‘Irish Independent’ can’t bring themselves to mention the RNLI, but talk about the ‘voluntary lifeboat service’ .
A strange quirk of history that the Royal National Lifeboat Institution provides a service in Eire.
Was interesting just looking it up,for some reason I always thought she bought the boat for the Humber side area. Guessing there must of been some Irish in there relatives
They lived in a mad property in Doncaster, and had some really cool furniture that he sold in his shops.
They really didn’t like kids, and gave big chunks of money to cat charities.
Also didn’t realise he had been a POW in ww2
At the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Hall watching Michael Head @Stepmotheratomicbomb @spacehopper , and oh my god, he’s on fire.
No photos allowed during the performance but my seat is adequate…
Brilliant Rob - I’ve been hearing very good things about his recent gigs
It was a fantastic gig Allan, he even did Jean’s Not Happening which he doesn’t do very often.
Will Sergeant from the Bunnymen joined him for an anthemic rendition of Streets of Kenny.
And the sound quality was amazing, probably the best I’ve ever heard live?
Nice one Rob.
The venue is awesome for that, the sound when I went to see John Grant there was top notch.
How did you find the seats though? We found them madly uncomfortable.
They were fine for me Jon,
Two gigs Saturday, Marilla Homes and friends at an afternoon house concert
and then the Goblin Band followed by local carols in the evening
Is there a cunty hat thread or are we restricted to foot coverings?
