Haha, the listing was removed (nothing to do with me!).
Had a chat with Volt, quite easy to get the grilles off but my, there was a lot of dust in there basically matted like a felt on one side. Very light wipe with a moist cloth and they come up quite good, although a little staining. Might be one to rear mount behind some grille fabric!
I’ll leave the other three for the moment so they are less likely to get damaged with the house move!
Any ideas on cleaning the remaining dust off? Spoke with Volt again, they advised against using isopropyl alcohol, and I guess any other solvents due to releasing the adhesive on the surround.
I’ve used brown parcel tape before
Good idea, I shall give that a go!
Return of the CAD, still like the modular build so I can change it about. I’ve added a ~100 litre 12" sub on the bottom although that’s certainly a longer term idea.
Both volt drivers rear mounted (being a grille cloth) in an individual 20 Litre sealed enclosure, the Seos 12 in the middle hidden behind a grille cloth.
Cabinets based around the golden ratio.
Now just to start pricing up wood, start saving up!
Should add I wouldn’t be keen on using it on surrounds, just the cone.
I use a very soft paint brush for surrounds
May be worth reducing the tack by sticking to your hand and peeling off a couple of times before applying to a cone, to reduce the chance of damaging the paper
edit - for Hoops, and maybe better with masking tape (lower tack)
Yes,also I’ve only done it with more rubberised type material, not sure I’d want to try it on paper. I just use the paint brush on the 15” paper drivers I have.
and just lightly dab the tape onto the dust, don’t press hard
Thanks chaps, I’ll give that a go at the weekend!
I wonder if frog tape (for painting mask) is worth trying -? It’s made to peel itself off paint.
Have you tried an air spray for cleaning keyboards, inside computers and the like?
How about one of these on a vacuum cleaner on low power?
Cue Penance in 1…2…3…
Cat hair roller.
Yeah this might be a good idea.
In between packing, spent a little time attempting to clean the Volt bass driver. Used a bit of rolled up tape first to try and remove more of the dust, not really effective. So bit the bullet and got a small dish with a little warm water and a dash of fairy liquid, and with a sponge applied a little to a small area first and lightly pulled it across the cone and surround. Seemed to work quite well so let it dry to see if it made a negative difference. After a while, it was fine so continued on going just using some kitchen paper roll so it would fall apart and collect the dust, lightly vacuumed up and then carried on between a sponge and microfibre cloth.
Has come out quite well I think, I’ll leave it a while again and try a little more later.

Breaking out the CAD, a simpler idea going with a ported enclosure, chatting with others, the B2500.4 really don’t sound great in sealed boxes as they don’t go low enough to blend with a sub.
Please excuse the basic driver/ Seos models, just a quick project in some downtime after work.
This puts the tweeter level around 65cm high, which when tipped back a little and ~15ft from the sofa should be fine.
