Bojo likely to spend another night in hospital. Maybe they tried to do a brain scan and had difficulty finding his pea rattling round in that big bonce of his and needed a bit more time?

The mother of Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has died after contracting coronavirus, the club have confirmed.
City said in a post on their official Twitter account that Dolors Sala Carrio had died aged 82, in Manresa, Barcelona.
“Everyone associated with the club sends their most heartfelt sympathy at this most distressing time to Pep, his family and all their friends,” the club statement read.

The plain fact is he’s never been up to the job of PM. On a good day he can make a decent fist of being a clown (e.g. HIGNFY presenter). But when he was given a real job to do - Foreign Sec (not as hard as PM) - he was demonstrably incapable of doing it to anything like an acceptable standard. He is prepared to take these things on, perhaps blinded by egomania and ambition, but he’s not so stupid that he doesn’t eventually realise he’s out of his depth. If he can get out reasonably gracefully then he may not put up much of a fight TBH.

True. But Major wasn’t exactly brilliant either. He had enough self-knowledge and self-confidence to let competent people close to him carry a lot of the load. He wasn’t obsessed with playing political games to the extent that his messing about drove capable people away. It’s come to something when Raab looks better than the current incumbent, but I fear that’s where we are.
