Fingers and everything else crossed mate, good luck.
Thanks guys, tbh it just feels like the onset of sore throat, cough and cold but you have to get a definitive answer to then act accordingly. I’m hoping it’s nothing and goes with a day or two.
Hanging out with Estate Agents. Demand a reduction in their fees and compo.
Surely that much aftershave would kill off anything?
Good luck with the test. Hope it is a negative.
I can’t even begin to imagine the shitstorm this winter. Imagine even trying to lob people back into offices.
The fear of death from CV-19 should relieve the monotony of the spud-only diet that Brexit promises to bring.
I’m currently trying to help the GPs across Derbyshire to plan for another Covid surge alongside the usual winter respiratory diseases, all while doing more flu immunisations than usual (ie 50 years plus) and coping with capacity reduction and staff shortages.
In short, they’re fecked. And likely so is every other county in the country. The only way through this is if we don’t see a Covid second wave…
Yeah, I still remember having it done (for a colleague’s study)…it doesn’t feel right at all. Even knowing how it’s supposed to be done I reckon I’d struggle to do it myself.
Hope you’re ok
Except it doesn’t really exist. I became really ill 3.5 weeks ago. I was a few days into symptoms before I put two and two together, read up on the tests, found out they only have a narrow time-window to be effective, booked immediately. Got a test the same day, in the mist of full pounding sledgehammer fever. Result came back negative, but I was fucking ill at this stage. Phone consultation with GP. His diagnosis: well it sounds like Covid to me, you’d better self isolate. But, but negative test, I said. Oh I wouldn’t take them very seriously if I were you… I have little faith in them… they have at least 30% false negatives, he said. 3.5 weeks later, I still feel like my limbs are made of lead, and last night was the first night I haven’t had to change clothes from sweating and aches. Finally. It’s given me an absolute kicking. Strange, morphing progression of symptoms, over and over, and fatigue like being run over by a bus. Several times in this period, I’ve felt like I’m better, only to slide back again. But there you are: what am I? A Covid person? No, according to the tests, yes according to a GP. Makes you wonder about the statistics. My experience of dealing with the NHS over this, is that there isn’t anything definitive in how they are looking at it.
I’m confident that my wife’s test will be negative as there’s no way she’s sticking anything down as far her tonsils…
It is a bit challenging to do that, but I made sure I did.
Please tell me Father Jack has got the job of government spokesperson
He’d make more sense
Yay!
Test came back negative for Covid
Excellent news.
So only a £30% you’ve got it. Go for it!
Swabbing until you gag, is it really necessary. Not according to a fella (yea i didn’t get his fecking name, scientist type though) from one of the testing kit providers. evidence is showing no difference between deep insertion and general mouth swab. however, on the basis that the bureaucracy around anything Government will persist, expect to be gagging for no reason into the foreseeable future.
New test kit will be either a general mouth swab or spit into a vial, results in 90 minutes. In general circulation within a couple of months, limited to care homes and NHS initially.
