I’m not keen on the disco type handles Yes something to aid transport would be very useful - Was thinking perhaps simple hand slots that could be sealed with a tidy plate. Even better four M8 tapped holes and then mount a 3d printed handle for transport?
Christ don’t 3d print that, buy something that’s actually strong!

For me it’s an aesthetic decision, but the box shape isn’t too big so still easy to move, and only 34kg 
which although heavy is definitely manageable.

Is that where the additional bracing you are planning is to reinforce the sides?
Yeah indeed was just going to put a brace over to what would have been the hole.

@Adpully found someone to CNC it all with minor adaptations. So seems I might have to actually build these now! Although be a few months till I have the wood cut

If the whole horn was 3D printed then I completely agree, as it is just the initial flare I think it’s worth it for the smooth finish to blend to the ply.
For matrimonial delight I have agreed to paint the horn mouth in teal.

Seems more people are getting on board with the MEH design. These guys are now offering them flat pack with tweak to make them easier to transport, cleaned up the tool paths/amount of wood required and made them easier to put on stands.

Dom- Our tool paths have been tidied up as well. The orig plans apparently had quite a loose fit plus he has amend a few simple bits of tool relief. Both of these improvements should make aligning things square for gluing much easier than it would have been.

Excellent, I know the instructions talk about a brad nailer but I am going to try and avoid this as much as possible to keep the wood on the outside un marked. So tighter tolerances will be great.
I was going to use an expanding polyurethane glue anyway to take up any gaps.
