So hoarding of amps is going well, from initial impressions of the Decware it will be great on the highs of the compression driver.
That leaves my David Wright monos for the mid.
Just need to decide on what to drive the bass and the subs. I have some T amps a Vfet and an audio innovations alto kicking around which will do for setting up and testing the rest when I build the speakers.

For the bass drivers, I’d certainly recommend some of the cheap Rotel multi-channel amps, been impressed with my bargain RB-976 Mk2 from @AmDismal. Using it bridged, a lot of amp for not much money at all. Much the same, I’ll eventually be using my Zen for Mid/Treble in an active setup.

You probably don’t want to hear this, but having gone through the whole multi amplifier suited to each frequency range thing, I have binned off all that and just gone for five identical Hypex amplifiers.
The sonic differences when using amps active across small frequency ranges is really not great, and the convenience of being able to turn everything on with a remote switch is great.
They’re great sounding, low noise, high efficiency and just work.

Is that a factory built Zen Dom? If so, how long did you have to wait after ordering?

It has a factory sticker, so built by Decware presumably. Looks very shiny!

For the LF and subs check your damping factors. Over 200 would be my recommendation.

She is a nice looker externally - The Sophia Electric Aqua 274B Rectifier in it is quite interesting a £250 valve! and might well be why changes have been made as I read it’s not totally a universal replacement for std rectifier in all situations. I reckon buying this is a risk well worth taking
Had no idea it was that spendy the rectifier. It does look rather fancy with the blue glass.
From the listening impressions it does seem incredibly good value for money.

Yes, I have Rob hoop’s Zen on loan. It is a lovely sounding little amp. The two watts it produces is more than sufficient to drive the 6 Goto horns

Well things are getting very real now, so I might soon run out of delaying tactics and have to actually build these.
Picking up the wood cut as per the plans with a few little tweaks:
No side handles (no need they will just sit in one place, unlike the original PA design)
Threaded inserts instead of T-nuts as it’s more secure and stronger
Slightly more bracing inside
Larger rear access panel to make it easier to work on when setting up and adding crossover etc.
I pick the wood up in just over a months time although it will be ready in a few weeks.
Things I need to get now are a tacking nail gun and lots of clamps.
In the meantime I have to find someone to service both my valve amps. I contacted someone local in Sussex but they take months to reply to any comms and don’t instil confidence. Anyone know someone who could service my Decware and David Wright monos?
