....more armchair politics (Part 2)

As you wish.
I’m happy with the bullet option. Or noose. Or a pack of JRs that haven’t been fed for a week (pay-per-View for that one)

You seem to be under the misapprehension that there is an ‘enough’ for most of this lot.

Wasn’t he advising the BVI government on how to defend themselves from a legal action brought by the UK government? While he was Attorney General? You couldn’t make it up, etc, etc, ad nauseum…

I’m surprised by that - cannot imagine Rees-Mogg is earning less than £1m per year from his hedge fund.

If you remember he wasn’t paid.
He took a £6million loan from the fund at zero interest with no repayment date. (No tax to pay either)
Perfectly within the rules.

That isn’t legal as it’s patently not a loan. I trust HMRC will pursue him as diligently as other people who’ve fallen foul of them and their rules… Suicides linked to HMRC cash demands in ‘loan charge’ tax bills | HMRC | The Guardian. And they WERE legal when they were taken out…

I’ve probably mentioned it once or twice  but HMRC are absolute cunts when it comes to reclaiming tax.

Long before I was contracting I was a permy with a company car. After I had quite a nasty car accident I got given a new car and did the usual of calling HMRC (back when that was possible) and gave them the make/model and value. My company then did the same a few days later and got the value wrong (what they paid rather than RRP)

About 2 years later I got a bill from HMRC for £4.5k in underpaid tax. At the time I was earning £39k so it was quite a chunk. They were absolute cunts and refused to accept anything less than full payment. Over the next few months I can honestly say the stress drove me very close to a nervous breakdown.

Only after sending them a really snotty letter and saying they will have to take me to court as I just don’t have the money did they agree to a repayment plan.

HMRC are cunts of the highest order.

Well it looks like it is, he stood up in the Commons and defended it when challenged.
He even quoted Shakespear.
I would expect Smogs offshore tax lawyers to run rings round HMRC.
My bad, looks like the interest rate was 0.8%

I think a lot of (lazy) contractors do it as well, my brother takes a company loan to pay his self assesment and then pays the loan back over the next year.

I just transfer 20% of any dividends I take (when I remember) into premium bonds and use that in Jan & July to pay the income tax.

i think he only has 18 months or so to pay it back now or it’s counted as income and taxed accordingly, plus a penalty for trying it on. Really don’t see how the slimy fucker can think he can get away with this, for once the rules are simple.

Offshore and trusts and lawyers stuff tho
And he did say he was using it for cash flow purposes buying property so he probably did pay it back in time for no tax liability

Not sure I agree with all this but an interesting take… (See article linked to in tweet)…

It is an interesting take although I can’t see/hear anything but vitriol being poured over our current government in this most recent film.

A particularly nice touch. See Pg56 of the Dealercunt handbook.

Wasn’t too sure where to post this…

Sums it up nicely. And a number of friends of mine who were initially unsupportive of Industrial Action are now beginning to get it.

I do not believe that there will be a revolution; I do believe that the ship is starting to turn.

Let’s get these horrible cunts out at the next GE.

I want another poll tax riot. But bigger. And I want heads on poles.
And I want the cunts to pay back every, EVERY, penny they’ve filched off us.

I reckon there might be a ULEZ riot. There have been a number of seemingly unreported Cost of Living Crisis demonstrations in C London.

Something has got to give , hasn’t it!
