The article mentions both Tory and Labour MPs.

It mentions one as opposed to multiple Tory MPs and lords but fair point

  2. Labour
  3. SNP

Warning Stronzi musing…

If every member of Parliament were wired to lie detectors in the commons. How many wouldn’t face some form of scandal? As a backlash to alt truth and as the technology is available openly on eBay (Even to the likes of Stronzi) if MP’s and the Government want to win back the trust of the people in the system this would be one way to do it. There may not be many MP’s left by the end of week 1 - For those left. SP-17.

Media Moguls next?

Which is why we’re stumbling blindfolded towards dictatorship by corporate oligarchy.

Quite, sad and moronic is how we deserve to be judged

Democracy relies on trust (which is being stretched/ diminsihed somewhat), politics less so.

Why not simply wire them all up to the mains?

Administrators expert in their field, acting in the interests of the people too big an ask?
Dishonest administrators are on par with dishonest diplomats.
We settle for so much less.

Stories first.

I interpret this as the role of government Civil Servants but confess I might be behind the times.

The only expertise if you want to call it that, that politicians possess is the ability to convince voters to put them into power under the vague and misguided notion that they will represent them and deliver what they have been mandated to. Effectively their skill is limited to propaganda.

Powerful individuals like Murdoch, who will be replaced by Musk, Zuckerberg et al, have long been able to determine the democratic result and what those in power actually do.

The genie is out of the bottle and almost certainly won’t be going back in now.

So things like trust, truth and expertise, the concept of democracy and representation are largely over. Lies and propaganda get groups into power and then keep them there until powerful interests change their mind.

Waste of valuable electricity. Get 'em in the sea instead.

I fear much is true here - Flim flam men thirsty for a power trip. I was thinking about my kids in the future the other day. It was a disappointing projection.

Hel and I were debating this the other evening. FoL joined in and it certainly lowered her expectations of she might expect in the future.

Go humans!
