Music To Look Forward To (New Releases)

I made the rookie mistake of posting the cover of that in the Any old pics thread. It was swiftly deleted by a mod.

There’s a reason I posted a link rather than the photo

£55 p&p seems a bit opportunistic. Does it come in a flight case or similar?

yeah, I had a moan on that. Seems like a website glitch - they PP invoiced with a more realistic £10

A couple of pieces from the rather talented Will McNicoll, one with horns:

and one solo guitar

The Fusion Syndicate is the extraordinary supergroup of unparalleled musical virtuosos who first came together in 2012 with the release of their self-titled studio album, which promptly became one of the most talked about releases in fusion jazz. Master keyboard player Rick Wakeman, a man whose accomplishments extend to the far corners of the galaxy and beyond, performed on the lead-off track from that album, “Random Acts Of Science” alongside fusion icons Jimmy Haslip of the Yellowjackets and Jerry Goodman of Mahavishnu Orchestra. Now, Wakeman returns to the Syndicate with an orbit-shattering performance of a new song!

“Io” is one of the most pivotal tracks on Fusion Syndicate’s new album A Speedway On Saturn’s Rings. Named for fourth largest moon of Jupiter, “Io” takes its astronomical theme seriously with walls of spacey synths powering a rocket-fueled thruster of a track that blasts off with a killer groove, laid down by a rhythm section of PiL bassist Jah Wobble and Frank Zappa drummer Chester Thompson, and becomes a showcase for some of Wakeman’s most gravity-defying keyboard solos!

A Speedway On Saturn’s Rings is the long-awaited follow-up album to the monumental debut album by The Fusion Syndicate with stellar performances by members of Genesis, Megadeth, Focus, Gong, Fishbone, Yes, Public Image Ltd., and lots more. The album also includes bonus tracks, all new remixes of tracks from the first FS album which include Steve Stevens, Billy Sheehan, Mel Collins, Derek Sherinian, Jay Beckenstein, and lots more!
Available everywhere on September 22!

sure that’s even more than I paid for the SOTT, christ, but I’ll probably cave…

I’m always surprised just how much variation there is in the (mainly) Amazon prices in the EU and the UK for that matter.

£262 in France
£330 in the UK
£338 in Germany
And the Italians have to stump up £356 nearly £100 more than the French. How is that possible?

I suspect the prices will fall after a while like the SOTT deluxe set but who knows. The 1999 super deluxe are up for £500+ right now on eBay.

Not the one I wanted so more likely to gamble on this one and wait for it to go below £200.

I may do the same. Should be able to hear the whole thing on Tidal when it’s released hopefully before i decide.
