I fondly remember a couple of stirring cup final appearances for Utd but also his being a pretty steady centre back.although he was unlucky with the timing of his injuries & missed a European Cup Final in 1975 and the World Cup in '78

Football has been linked to Alzeimers Disease rather than vascular dementia I believe.
Although anything that causes brain damage could be contributory
Pretty sure watching football has that effect.
