Well he outlasted Elvis by half a century so pretty good going.

Hope he got the full song writing credit.
Col Parker was notorious for insisting that Elvis got half the songwriting credits for stuff he recorded…
Elvis is credited with loads of songs, though it is doubtful that he had any input on any record ever,

Dolly Parton tells a story when she was a young writer and approached and told Elvis would record ‘I Will Always Love You’ but she would need to give up 50% of the credits.
Dolly never gave anything away and Elvis never recorded the song

Production of the song was nearly scuttled over a copyright dispute. Presley’s business people said they wanted half of Moman’s publishing rights. Moman accused them of stealing and threatened to halt the recording session. Harry Jenkins of RCA agreed with Moman because he sensed that “the song would be a big hit and there would be plenty to go around”.

I’ve just found out that the old chap I live next door to has passed. A true Geordie Gentleman in every sense, intelligent, charming and witty who enjoyed a successful career as a draughtsmam/engineer @ Swan Hunters. Also partial to the occasional Neuky Brown & a dram of the good stuff.

To Dave!

Bad news but not unexpected. Tragic to die so young.

My sister passed away at 70 suddenly this week. She was a severe schizophrenic and was looked after by her husband for the last 40 years.

Sad but a release.

This is sad news Mick. You have my sympathies.

I feel for your brother-in-law too. When you love someone you just want them to be well, and when they aren’t you do your best to care for them. In his case it sounds as though that’s been a long haul.

Thanks, her husband did a wonderful job looking after her. He’s about 94 years old!
