Very sorry to hear this but, as Paul said, it sounds a fairly dignified way to go surrounded by family.

RIP Bob Newhart
Known for so much more than the Big Bang theory.
As a kid I was given a tape of his with the driving instructor, infinite number of monkeys. Would play it over and over. His timing and delivery style was superb.

His monologues were masterpieces.

I remember watching his sit com Newhart when I was a kid, and it was amusing but fairly standard stuff, but then C4, iirc, showed some of his stand up stuff which was far more adult oriented. One in particular had me actually rofl-ing and in actual pain from the laughter, wish I could remember what the subject was.

I remember an assembly at school when I was 11 or 12 where they played a recording of his skit on introducing tobacco smoking to civilisation. There was much laughter.

Sad. Only 58.

It is sad - same age as me :grimacing:

Sorry to hear that.
I have a few of his albums.
The Ali Farke Toure album with Ry Cooder led me to listen to many different African musicians starting with Kora players .
Toumani Diabate was a major figure in tbe genre

Sir Kenneth Grange.

Designed part of the 125, probably designed something in your house right now, and also did some really wild speakers for B&W.
