He had some great moments with England. These amongst others

Very sad news. He was a gentleman.

Top gooser. That Faria Alam was in my class at school. She didn’t look like that then!

A proper collector.

She can’t have been any age?

Some childhood memories in this one. Certainly remember him from Screen Test, and on the local news. Didn’t know the connection with Danger Mouse though.

You have to wonder how much of a tune Lou Reed gave him to work with for him to then come up with that bass arrangement. Also yes, paid for the day but no further royalties? And if/when Lou Reed went on tour & played it, presumably he wasn’t asked to come along?

As far as I know those session players got a one off fee,and that was it.

I’ve heard him talk before where would play Ronnie Scott’s,then walk to Danny la rues club then sometimes in the early hours to a studio to do some quick session work.

I met him when he played with sky, a really lovely chap, an incredible story teller and equally funny. In the recent past he held workshops for children with varying levels of disability, each child went home with a cd of rhe music they’d created together. What a bass player and tuba player, look him up on Wiki, his musical history and hit records is astounding. RIP Herbie, down to earth and a proper gentleman.
