I went into my local Porche main dealer yesterday to inquire about buying a sat nav map update. They said that its NLA for my car (their abbreviation)

Given that porkers tend to last a long time and there’s thousands of older ones out there, I find that very disappointing and annoying.

It’s annoying as hell, especially when a £200 phone will do a better job albeit spoiling the aesthetic of the interior.

That’s a bummer, it maybe worth checking the Porker forums, usually folks have a ‘non official’ update available for download.

Welcome to the dealer troll - premium marque style.

Yes it’s one of the mysteries of the universe…

…a bit like how can such a thin person be such a fat lot of good

Or why do some people pay so much for the privilege of being treated like a bitch?

(Don’t google that)

You have such a chip on your shoulder.

If you say so, but I was just poking fun. And in any case the perfume pricing of many main dealers for poor service is something to ridicule.

Whilst dealers are guilty of a lot of things, it’s difficult to imagine how they’d be able to rustle up map updates if Porsche stop supplying them

Stop spoiling an entirely flippant comment with sensible points!

Think 3rd party suppliers, somebody will have an update as it will only be somebody else’s with a proper badge.

Binatone sat nav. £55. Stick it on your windscreen, problem solved.

(to be clear, this is not sarcasm, I am a big fan of Chinese plastic crap from eBay)

Yes it was £25 new a few years ago off eBay

Regularly cuts out,and have to find my pin to reset it. Really should get a new one

Just download WAZE onto your phone Stu, it’s free and much more betterer.

How much data do phone sat navs use?
