Those De Buyer pans must be the best value around, £50 buys a whopper.
32cm £42 from Amazon.
Good deal, they can take a battering as well. Mine gets used in the kitchen and on open fires when camping.
Yeah, I’ve got various bits of their kit and it’s all pretty much bullet proof.
I very much like their Pro mineral B range with SS handles…
Yeah, that’s the frying pan I’ve got. Gets super hot on an induction hob, which is great for doing blue steak.

Excellent service from SolidTeknics USA…ordered Sunday afternoon… delivered this morning
Lovely bit of kit with a near perfect complete pre seasoned surface as a result of their hot pan into cold bran seed oil quenching process…nice weight and balance in the hand and importantly
A couple of cm clearance inside the top Gaggenau oven
Yeah, the “quenched” finish is nice.
Did yours come with a beeswax n oil seasoning puck Pete as shown in a couple of YouTube’s of unboxing… 2.40 mins in … Solidteknics Quench Wrought Iron Pan Unbox & Review - YouTube
On the list of things you have never heard of and didn’t know you needed.
Yup…You would think that the wax molecules bonded into the surface seasoning would melt at cooking temperatures even if they become mixed with oil polymers when combined with hi smoke point oils and heated to bond to the surface of the pan
Mine didn’t, perhaps because I ordered from Amazon - there was a review that said they didn’t get it.
Not that it matters really, I got some grape seed oil for seasoning purposes.
Did you get one?
Nope…Like you I’m not fussed either…shall stick with my tried and tested way… more curiosity I suppose
do they do a ribbed skillet or pan. Thinking of replacing ours as it is too small - thinking of de beyer min B

Another Lovely SolidTeknics one piece wrought iron pan @ 26cm…this one sporting a shot peened finish with a complete pre seasoned surface…The idea being that the roughened shot peened surface will facilitate easier bonding of the oil / fat polymers creating a well bonded seasoned surface…we shall see…The US Aus-ion hot oil quenched finished pan for comparison
Seasoning commences tomorrow…Grapeseed oil for the win…
What do you do with your cast offs Roger? I can’t imagine that the pans that preceded this new stuff were in any way crap.
Blatant can you send them to me post
Minutes before I posted a similar question
Rob…and Paul…I’m replacing a mix of old well seasoned cast iron Lodge pans ( partly for weight reasons) and a few de Buyer steel skillets which are again nicely seasoned…we have a local charity food kitchen where I volunteered before Covid and they operate mostly with a motley selection of cheap knackered pots and pans and so my old boys will be going to the cause when lockdown is lifted…
