Proud dad (/mum/grandad/uncle/whatever) moments

Another film closing out D & M’s time in Bolivia before moving into Argentina and Chile.

I’m so envious of them making this trip. I wish I’d made it to S America when I was their age.

Watched it earlier, looking forward to the next as always

Loved the bc and Sundance intro

From the Insta feeds Argentina looks spectacular

It does seem that while Sundance may have been killed there, it may well be that BC got away & returned to the US to live on for another 20 years.

I do too but fear it may have been the death of me at the age and mind I was in

Some great imagery here at the salt flats.

Not sure if I’m that proud of this but FoL#2 has asked if we (that is she and me) can go to the Agritechnica show in Hanover in November, ostensibly because I failed to obtain 6N tickets this time around, and it’ll be a nice weekend away for us.

She’s trying to sell it to me by telling me “It’s the biggest Tractor and farm machinery show in the world! It’s going to be awesome!”, in the manner of Gru’s super excitable daughter from Despicable Me.

Tractors, ffs.:man_facepalming:

You are aware of where you have posted this?

I am actually massively proud of her.

More the idea that anyone on this forum can look down on any other pastime as nerdish…

Haha, yeah I get you. She’s a proper tractor nerd. She’s off to JCB soon as part of her apprenticeship and can’t wait to get her hands on a FastTrac

Yeah, he’s a twat, but his company build pretty good kit.

Although Lauren, who does PDIs on them might just have some suggestions for their QC department on the state of some of it when it arrives at her dealership…

Also, Hannover = Germany = Beer. It’s not like she wants to drag you to Slough.

A further film from Argentina. This was actually in December. They’ve since moved back up to NE Peru, along the Amazon and now are up in Medellin, Colombia.

It seems that nephew #1 and his mates have had their first encounter with unwise amounts of alcohol.

I would say that it turned out exactly as you’d expect, but it sounds like they outdid even the heroically dumb shit that I got up to at that age

It’s going to be a long time before you live that one down boys.

Tales please (for comparison purposes, oc)

Well all the usual injuries, vomming, smashed up house.

All the drunk stereotypes seem to have been present: the hysteric, the fighty one, the one who has to take all his clothes off. I’d totally forgotten that I used to know someone who did that.

The difference comes when it’s not 1981 any more and everybody has a mobile phone. Nothing actually bad but definitely excruciatingly embarrassing when you sober up.
