Proud dad (/mum/grandad/uncle/whatever) moments

She was lucky to find one that matches her frock

Loving the lack of “if” in that statement

No need, Shirley ?

It is niece #1’s graduation in Exeter on Monday so the family are travelling down today.

Last night she sent out a scarily ambitious and precise schedule for the weekend, littered with lots of “DO NOT BE LATE” (primarily aimed at her Dad, a fellow Agent of Chaos).

At 11.30 last night her Mum replied pointing out that

a) nobody had started packing and niece #2 was still out partying, presumably somewhere in central London

b) she’d missed the bit where she

lost her keys
borrowed her neighbour’s keys
phoned up in tears because she was locked out and had now lost the second set of keys
found second keys on the floor
packed in five minutes, run for the train and caught it with 30 seconds to spare
eventually found the original keys in her back pocket where she had been sitting on them for two days

As you can imagine these events aren’t hypothetical and are only a small sample of what she brings to the table.

A real survivor then.

I used to work with an Austrian woman who once showed me a plan like that for travelling from here to somewhere distant (Bulgaria ?) on multiple trains with some tight connections, including two or three in the UK. I asked her what Plan B was. She looked at me quizically, just saying that her timings were all from official timetables.

I think things had gone awry before she even arrived in France.

Planning is good. But don’t just make one.

Last night was Sams last concert at South East Derbyshire Music Centre.
We are so proud if him, he’s been through so much, yet still achieved so much.
Part of the fab four!

16 year old daughter has gone with her friend to London for a week and staying with one of my best mates.

I’m just proud she got on the train etc and is currently touring London of her own free will, a year ago she had a meltdown about getting on the bus from our house to her gymnastics club

I like this picture from yesterday’s batch of photos

Fol#1 now a qualified Emergency Response driver paramedic, not the most stable
of vehicles on the road, now lead paramedic and driver.
I did drill into the girls ’ never work with the public ', now one’s a paramedic and the other a police officer. So much for parental influence.
