Saw my haematology consultant today fully expecting to be given the all clear.
However the PET scan I had on Halloween showed a new lymph node in my cancer area (groin) that they were unsure about.
Probably a reaction to the radiotherapy / chemo / surgical biopsies but they need to monitor it and so will have another PET scan in 4-5 months to see how it has developed.

Presumably why they keep monitoring for a while.
Better than a nasty surprise in a year.
Hope it is nothing!

Update on Yvonne, she just cleared her latest 6 month checks which means we can enter the start of 2025 without any immediate concerns. 2024 being a interesting year with the post op chemo plus a surgical repair to damaged vocal chords in August caused by the lung operation last November.

Anyhow now looking to go back to Japan for two weeks in Feb, first holiday since original diagnosis.

Had my PET scan yesterday as there were signs of progress. I hope we both get the all clear.

Such a shame. Not the news that you were hoping for. That’s really tough. Hope the next scan brings better news.

I am quite looking forward to saying goodbye to 2024. On balance, it has not been a good year.

Got the results of my PET scan. Suffice to say there is some evidence to suggest that the yellow is making some efforts to progress. At the moment things are being held in check by the regorafenib but my oncologist is not happy. I have been put forward for some new, experimental form of radiotherapy which isn’t funded by the NHS. Luckily, the firm that make the gubbins will supply it gratis in the hope of getting it listed by the NHS. I’m expecting to glow mildly in the dark some time in the New Year.

TL/DR; not much happening to worry about at the moment.

Fingers crossed Olan :crossed_fingers:
