The AltBergs feel like they were made-to-measure and I’m super-impressed with the quality; the Muck Boots are a mite roomy (no half sizes), but otherwise super-comfy. Given how wet and liquid-muddy it is round here, it’s the latter that’ll get the most use for the immediately-forseeable.

It’s the wellies they need to worry about…
I had some Muck Boots a couple of years ago… They lasted a year and a day until they split just at the foot flex point. I’d advise getting a few insoles in there to reduce internal volume as I reckon the split was caused by too much loose upper over-flexing on every step.
However, for the same money I’d recommend Skellerup Quattro boots - they lasted more than twice as long, had a much better sole (stiffer with better mud-shedding) and only failed when they came into contact with some hot bits of angle-ground metal!

Muck boots of the last 6 or 7 (?) years are a pale imitation of their former selves, before they were made in China.
