but the extraction of bamboo fibres is about as envirenmentaly unfreindly as you can get.

Cotton production accounts for 1/6 of all the pesticides used globally. Cotton farming and processing gobbles up massive amounts of water. And then there’s the dyes used.
Choose your poison, there is no environmentally friendly textile.
