Quite different given AN always pursued higher sensitivity via undoped bass drivers and the additional colouration that potentially brings. The J/II and E/II always used doped bass drivers (SEAS I think though not 100%) and always reproduced tone & timbre very well.

Have now had these speakers for 12 years. Only reason I remember is because of the London olympics.
Think my record for keeping speakers before these were two years.
No doubt will have to move out in a few years to the little oap flats opposite,but will be trying my hardest to fit the fuckers in there somehow.

So… some bargains, some ok deals etc.
Started when I found a pair of Rogers LS6A locally in Edinburgh for £200 with stands, so I grabbed them for a laugh.
I found I rather preferred them to the focal1028’s I’d been offered. So I decided to build a system around them.
Then set about finding an amplifier. I really wanted something with enough power to get the speakers moving, but also with a decent phono stage and dac, and I found the perfect candidate.
Creek Evolution 100A, with ruby dac module and sequel phono stage module. A clever class G thing that runs normal class A/B up to 30w or so, and then runs a second power rail on the “B” side of that to offer up 110w into 8ohms and 180w into 4.
So powerful, welll build and modular!
I then needed a streamer for roon, so I’m using a FIIO SR11, £90 with voucher code from premium sound Uk. Perfect network end point for roon and airplay, and supports USB dacs, so goes straight into the amp.
Technics 1500C, my local dealer helped me out with this. I won’t reveal the price they gave me, but suffice to say, it wasn’t worth me trying to find anything second hand.
I hate ortofon reds though, so I picked up A Nagaoka MP200 to go on it.
