SOYS: State Of Your System

Now there’s a name I rarely see appear on hifi forums, and somehow I’ve never knowingly heard any of their stuff.

Seems a well-balanced system, and (gulp!) pleasingly faff-free :ok_hand:

Friend uses LS7s with quad 44/405 he bought off me 20 years ago.
His main music is reggae, and he loves them

I did consider quad gear… 99/909 were high up my list, but ideally I wanted integrated.

This seemed to fit the bill

Seems a solidly well engineered, sensibly thought out amp

Was going to suggest the vena ii

I also considered the artera pre into some kind of power, or the Leak integrated.

But all either very low on power, or quite expensive.

I fucking love this thing; has increased listening time and expenditure on Valves; music and wine by 940%

Some updated speaker stands. I hated the lightweight and horribly matching freebies I got with the Rogers.

Managed to get some cheap LINN sara stands on eBay which have roughly matching dimensions.

Brings the tweeter up, which really opens up the sound, and soundstage much larger.

Devialet mounted on the wall, what a fucking faff with really soft plaster that seems to be about 25mm thick :rage: :rage: :rage:

Very shiny though

No doubt you’ll be standing in front of that admiring your new sylph like bod once the jabs take effect :joy:

Yeah, fat chance. On the 4th jab and so far they’ve done fuck all to suppress my appetite since the first 4 days.

It’s been many years since I posted in this thread, mainly because I accidentally muted it and completely forgot that it existed.

Looking back at my last post, the thing that strikes me is how little my system has changed over the last few years. The exceptions being that my SP10 Mk 2 has been brought into everyday use as a mono deck with the addition of an SME 3012 s2 and an SPU Mono. I’ve also started using a Hana Umami Blue instead of my Phasemation PP-500. Otherwise everything is as it was in 2021.

A few photos that were taken over the course of the last few months:

Far-and-away one of the best-looking rooms on here :ok_hand:

I really must visit sometime. Many elements of this run to my own aesthetic tastes. And it looks like a great setup.

Plus I’ll always like any room that has a ladderax in it!

You’re very welcome any time David. Just give me a shout.

Ladderax is great. My regret is that I don’t have room for more than one bay as my wee flat is already full to the brim with mid-century furniture.

I know the feeling!

What happened to the two recliners with wooden arms? You seem to have done sneaky switcheroo to two others of very similar colour!
