He mentioned about the audion thing as I asked him about the company and what happened.
I’m not sure if I met him before as I remember going to the unit 20 or so years ago by the roundabout.

I still don’t know Paul 
A while back it started having an intermittent drop in power which lasted only a second so I thought it was just a faulty valve so I sent it off to Audio Emotion.
The valves tested ok and the amp worked fine for a couple of weeks before the fault appeared so they sent it off to Luxman UK just before Xmas for them to try and diagnose the problem.
No news so far - I’ll give it another week before annoying AE again.
That’s a shame. Intermittent faults are the most annoying. Hope you get it back soon.

Luckily I have a old Sony amp which has been doing sterling service in it’s place but it’s way too powerful with the Direkts so volume is a bit more of an issue 
Cleaned out the bearing and used some sewing oil. He said the tolerance was 40 microns,so guessing it doesn’t need anything thicker.
It runs at 33.5 and 45.2 on the old belt.
He gave me a new one,so will give it a try at some point
I really only bought it for the eroica and possibly the arm.

Is it an Eroica L (blue printing) ?
Didn’t it have a DC motor so adjustable via turning voltage down/up?

There are no markings on the cart other than goldring eroica in blue. I did wonder why it didn’t have LX on it
It’ll be the L but that’s a very decent cartridge with a good quality vdH tip on it.
