SOYS: State Of Your System

I suspect @coco is fully wrapped up with work demands right now, but yes what the world needs to see is his interpretation of a full foo preamplifier :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I’d pay good money but I don’t think that’s the constraint right now

Popped in this shop last week, good selection of 2nd hand vinyl and a very knowledgeable owner who builds valve amps to desired spec., we chatted about high end components, Audio Note, etc.

Might be worth a chat @crimsondonkey, you will at least come out with an arm full of records.

Coco design and Edd construction?

Not sure, that looks like a bit of ply wheres AN use a wood composite board, I think someone has lashed up an M5 from an old M2 balanced, may have been AN before they started using composite as the M2 balanced is nearly 20 years old now.

Personally I’d choose one of Simon’s Model 7 preamps over an M5 and preferred it over the M9 someone brought round to my place.

How did you get on with the Preda?

Utterly fabulous sounding. Natural sounding and layered presentation. The biggest surprise was the difference in low bass response which had me digging out a ton of electronic music to enjoy all over again.

A definite contender and very grateful to @murrayjohnson for the opportunity to enjoy it.

It’s currently the one to beat.

The absence of mains electricity inside it may at least mean that one of these won’t be required close by.

Mind, I notice another member on here flogging an NVA BMT on another forum, but inexplicably, not here…

Looks like the perfect way to kiss 15k goodbye or get lucky and get a big ugly gold box for 20k once the vat and duty are paid.
Are they that good?

Hifibroker always very expensive, not sure there is much of a market for Robert Koda stuff in the UK. Didn’t Purite try to sell these?
