Well that would have gone down like a house on fire Paul

There’s another one out there for less than 8 grand.

They have lots of different stuff now, not a lot of it sells and they drop the agencies pretty quickly.

For the kind of preamp and likely money changing hands I’m only prepared to invest once I’ve heard the unit in my system to be fully satisfied that its a good match for my set up and my ears.

Speak to Dan @defride . He has quite a bit of exposure to one, and knows/knew the importer, I think.

That is incredibly cheap. £15k is not an unusual price for a Robert Koda. Really impressed when i heard one. Not sure I could live with any pre that doesn’t have a remote though.

Remote is a bonus rather than a necessity. Has to go well with the Pass.

None of my last 3 pre amps has had a remote!

Are you bragging or complaining?

It means I get some exercise :grinning:

Good man!

So worth getting a listen then?

I heard a Robert Koda at a pre-amp bake-off some years ago. Everything else was noisy and/or coloured by comparison.

A term I’ve never understood, surely everything in music and it’s recording/reproduction is coloured.

That sold on eBay, in August.

I imagine the EMIA autoformer would be a good match with a Pass Lab amp

Yep that is most certainly on the list to audition

I may be knocking up a DIY one soon using the autoformers direct from Dave Slagle rather than buying the EMIA one as the sensitivity on the 6b4g amps is astronomical and are completely unusable with the M7
