Mainly Synergistic Research RED and ORANGE fuses in all mains plugs and internal casework. I haven’t tried the SR PURPLE and MASTER fuses, but I feel that the RED’s and ORANGES in my system provide a nice “uptick” in sound quality, but then I like to think I am open-minded and willing to entertain controversial concepts in the quest for improved system performance.

Yes. I like my “foo” but appreciate that it’s not for everyone and should only be investigated, once the system basics are sorted!

THIS is a power cable:

I think you get the horn after the divorce!

After hearing Steve’s system I decided I needed cable lifters in my life. You’ll probably be surprised to learn, I made them myself.

My fuses are made from braided Kit Kat wrappers.

They are transparent and chocolatey in tone. They can become a little fatiguing, but you just have a break.

I favour the 100A nail. Or at a pinch the 50A paperclip. Though last time I tried that, the fuse wasn’t the problem and I melted a toroid!

The smell was horrific

Hahaha! Mad Scientist Black Nano Discs - They were freebies from this website Best sales - Mad Scientist Audio

Do they make any difference to the sound? None that I could detect, but neither do they do any harm and didn’t cost anything!

As for the power cables, the biamping experiment was basically jerry-rigged. Had it showed serious promise, I would, of course, used “serious” audiophool power cables in the final set-up!

Love the sea lion power cable by the way!

Temporary pass granted - be careful out there :+1:

But can also be used creatively in other locations…

You asked about a Bake-Off in a previous post!

I usually host two a year, in the summer and autumn.

Here are some photos from my last BO, held on Sunday 1st October 2023, when sixteen Wammers and a couple of “plus ones” attended.

They must be popular, because one couple travelled down from Yorkshire, staying overnight in a nearby hostelry and taking in the charms of Winchester, prior to attending my BO the following day!

Others came from as far afield as Rugby, West Midlands , Bristol and Cornwall!

I’ll be sure to post details on this forum, when my next one is due to be held, for any that want to enjoy a social in semi-rural Hampshire.

So, either your set-up has completely changed from last October, or the kit in the bake-off pics was brought along by the guests?

Btw, I’m having a bake-off a week Saturday (Jan 20th) If you’d like to join in, you’d be very welcome (postcode NR20) :grinning:
