Tales from the Ginnel

Yea, a couple of thin ties across the split would have done.

He didn’t use them that often for stabilising splits, but when he did, they looked good

A lacquer finish to this one. Sized to take any 12" arm on two interchangeable arm pods. One can take the Ortofon sliding base in three positions, the other an SME base in two positions. The ripple is more pronounced than the camera can pick up through the high gloss lacquer.

I cracked and made something for Miriam, a table for her sewing machine, just the lockable castors and varnish to go. Top is some forty year old oak work top and frame is Elm with 12 mortice and tenons. Foot rest is teak on doweled halving joints. Used screwed buttons to join the frame and top.

Brownie points bagged for future misdemeanours.

Not come across that name for it before. I have been roped into building a sofa bed by SWMBO that will use a fair few as part of the framework

You know there are things called shops, right…?

Just don’t buy a futon, futons are only bought by people who never want their guests to stay again

Now that’s a mirror finish. A week to go and then in for some studio shots. Black beauty on its way

Shame about the way it’s made your mains switch wiring look so wiggly.

Took a few coats of lacquer, a dozen, but the finish is there now. Need to get it into a studio for some proper shots, I can’t pick out the grain with the phone’s camera.

Did that have a starring role in a Kubrick movie in a past life?

Does it show up on radar?
