One of my Mum & Dad’s oldest living friends is devout Catholic, great family man etc etc but is one of the most insidiously racist cunts I’ve had the misfortune to ever meet and caused many a fall out with them over the years.

I think it is difficult to underestimate how powerful the communications people receive are,
If all they see is Fox News and Truth Social, Washington Examiner, Townhall etc there is no alternative pov,
When I first came across Glenn Beck on fox news I thought it was a Brass Eye type satire. Took me a good 15 mins to realise it wasn’t.

I see it was reported that major democrat donors are choosing a VP for her. At least they dont hide the fact that it’s all bought and paid for.

It’s just the way things are.
But the Tories have been telling us for years that it is the Unions that are the pay masters and string pullers of the Labour Party.
Once you’ve managed to convince yourself the invisible sky fairy exists I’d imagine it’s relatively straightforward to put aside logic and critical reasoning on any number of subjects.

Seems pretty sensible for a govt who’s been out of power for so long to involve experts from relevant fields in forming policies. I do get that conflicts-of-interest can emerge, but when you sup with the devil you use a long spoon…
