I think that bus was on diversion at the time, but they don’t usually turn right into Great Peter Street, but continue down from Marsham Street into Great Smith Street. I wonder if medical episode. Also if he had carried on down Great Peter Street the turning into Millbank is pretty tight.
It has to be said that I don’t usually get it around that part of town. My limits are Brixton and Crystal Palace in either direction.
Looking through some pictures; this one is a Leyland Royal Tiger. It has since been immaculately preserved in it’s original livery.
Before that, I spotted the coach in 2016 in Detling. Was a good opportunity to put my badge on the coach it was designed for!

Looks a bit like pedal confusion to me. Oh shit. Too close to taxi, must brake. Hits wrong pedal. Also looks like they turned too early.
New Routemaster is quite a bit longer than a standard decker used on TfL services. Long wheelbase= getting position bang on before negotiating the turn.
Just my opinion though. I have not driven a New Routemaster!
