Something I have been saying for a long time. Used to use them a lot when I first joined over 25 years ago, but as soon as I started to manage staff and saw the damage the easy access to alcohol was doing to some changed my view.
Also had to deal with too many difficult customers worse for wear. Although to be fair it is much better these days, and bar staff will refuse to serve far more readily. However this is so shocking, and I think could be the final nail.

Except it’s not the only place with alcohol, although it is one of the easier ones to access as a pass holder. The easiest being the Woolsack (formally Sports and Social Club). That used to open lunch time till late Monday to Thursday. There are other bars in the HOC but MP’s only, and similar in the House of Lords.
I think it will re-open but suspect the Modernisation Cttee will propose much more change later in the year. A fair chance of going through with the government majority.
close them all, they’re a bunch of narcissistic window lickers even before alcohol is added to the equation.
