Cheer up. Earlier today, I went to collect the boy from school. I was delayed by a removal van (so sat stationary at the warm up phase where start/stop is disabled for a few minutes). As I was now late, I had to go the fast way to school; Dual carriageway, roundabout, dual carriageway, roundabout, dual carriageway, roundabout, national speed limit single carriageway, and park.
Bit pissed off today as I found out Aliās scheme wonāt let us order the Model 3LR because it takes her salary below a threshold theyāve come up with. The fact itās me paying for it has no bearing, obviously.
So we can get the SR+, the same one Steveās got - and for Ā£380/m, no deposit, insurance and all tyres/service included itās still a no brainer really.
I could sell my BMW as was my original plan and fund the LR through a normal lease, but the difference is so big it would be daft really. This way I can keep the Beemer and try out the Model 3 risk free. I might sell my car later to buy solar panels or something.
I was thinking about the cybertruck the other day. I reckon thereās fuck all chance of it making it over here looking like it does. Basic stuff like pedestrian crash protection will surely mandate changes.
Ages ago I signed up on the website for info and launch dates on the id3, but got bored waiting so got the Zoe.
Then the emails started, pre order now before they sell out. Then get the launch edition, then please order a car please. Now itās special offer time and I have unsubscribed. They seem desperate to sell them.
Yes, it is disappointing. Itās the car weāre thinking about signing up for. Iāll let the early adopters continue reporting qc issues for a while longer.
Need to dispable the beep for 1 hand steering too.
The thing with software issues is that it can take a very long time to fix them, which might mean that apparently minor issues like one hand beeping will go down the list. I would be very cautious about buying one; seems a good lease choice IMO.
Itās hard to get exact details of battery weight. This: https://www.large.net/news/8bu43qf.html indicates that the battery might weigh somewhat over 300kg, but I imagine that the casing for the battery must also be quite heavy for safety purposes. A Golf weighs 1390kg, of which about 200kg is the engine.
I canāt really see why they are so much heavier tbh, but they wonāt be adding gratuitous lead weights, so it is what it is.
